  • When do classes start​ ?

  • Eligibility

    I have a criminal record. Am I eligible to participate in the program?


    All applicants who are sober and drug-free are welcome, and their applications will be considered. We understand that men who have served their time sometimes have difficulty locating employers who are willing to hire them. 


    Once your application has been accepted, then we will work with you to increase your chances of employment.

  • Education

    I did not graduate from high school. Can I still participate?


    Yes.  

  • Current Employment

    I currently have a part-time job, but feel underemployed. Can I still participate?


    Most likely, yes, as long as you can attend the scheduled classes.

  • Religion

    I am not a Christian. Does The Men’s Fieldhouse accept applicants who are not Christians?


    We accept any man who is willing to attend, listen and participate in our program. 

    We do not require that anyone become a Christian or attend church to attend the program. We use the Bible as a tool for study and want to help any man who wants to learn about a better life for themselves and their family. 

  • Transportation

    I don't have a car. Do you provide transportation?


    Although The Men’s Fieldhouse does not provide transportation directly, please contact us to see what options there are to help you. If there is a will, there is a way and we will always do our best to help you find a way.


    The Brazos Transit District  Hours of service are from 5 a.m. to 7 p.m.  For help or further information on the Lufkin Fixed Routes, please call 1-800-272-0039 or the Lufkin Transfer Point at 936-639-2641.

  • Job Placement

    Do we place participants in jobs?


    Although we are not a job placement service, we will work with you and various employers to increase your chances of employment.



  • Social Services

    Are social services are provided?


    We do not directly provide social services such as clothing, medical treatment, financial assistance, daily meals, clothing, and so on. 


    However, we maintain strong relationships with various social service agencies and organizations and can point you in the right direction.

  • Program Requirements

    What can I expect from the CMJC program, and what does it expect from me?


    We will provide:

    • Education in life and job skills and spiritual encouragement
    • A mentor to provide guidance and advice
    • Upon successful completion, a graduation ceremony and certificate

    You Will Provide:

    • An application and participation in an initial interview
    • Your regular attendance and active participation
    • A clean and sober life
  • Cost

    How much will this program cost me?


    There is no charge for this program. Your only cost of participating is your time, energy, and commitment.

Volunteer

Most of our workforce is comprised of volunteers. If you have a few free hours that you can dedicate to others, or a skill that can be shared, we will be happy to channel it in the right direction.

Why The Men's Fieldhouse?

The Men's Fieldhouse, an affiliate of Christian Men's Job Corps, is an education center that offers classes to help men break the cycle of poverty. Our goal is to minister to the whole person emotionally, physically, economically, and spiritually.
